As a San Diego private chef, I believe a great meal begins with great ingredients. Whenever possible, I shop at local farmers markets and farm stands to find produce that is fresh, flavorful, and at its seasonal best.
Better Produce Means Better Flavor
Produce grown nearby can often be picked closer to peak ripeness. This creates better flavor, texture, and color.
When ingredients are this good, they don’t need to be overcomplicated. Ripe tomatoes may need only fresh herbs, olive oil, sea salt, and citrus. Fresh squash can become something special with careful grilling and a flavorful seasonal sauce.
This is the foundation of my seasonal California comfort food: familiar dishes prepared with exceptional ingredients and a few thoughtful twists.

Letting the Season Inspire the Menu
Shopping seasonally keeps my menus fresh and gives my clients something new to enjoy throughout the year.
Depending on the season, I may find:
Heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, and summer squash
Peaches, berries, and other seasonal fruit
Fresh herbs and specialty greens
Local citrus, mushrooms, and root vegetables
I also discover unusual varieties that may not be available in a traditional grocery store. These ingredients bring more color, flavor, and personality to a customized menu.

Knowing Where Food Comes From
Shopping from local farmers and trusted vendors gives me an opportunity to ask where an ingredient was grown, when it was harvested, and what is especially good that week.
Local sourcing does not replace proper food-safety practices, but shorter supply chains and trusted relationships provide greater transparency. I combine thoughtful sourcing with careful transportation, refrigeration, washing, preparation, cooking, and storage.

Supporting San Diego Farmers
Buying locally supports the farmers and food producers who make Southern California such an exciting place to cook. It also connects my menus to the region and season in which they are being served.
Sometimes the best menu ideas begin with simply seeing what looks beautiful at the farm that day.

Thoughtful Food, Personalized for You
Whether I am preparing weekly family meals, cooking for guests in a San Diego vacation rental, or designing a private dinner, my goal is to create food that feels comforting, vibrant, and personal.
Farm-fresh produce helps me bring better flavor to the table while giving my clients confidence that every detail has been thoughtfully handled.
